One team, united in purpose: to lead youth to encounter Christ. How do we do it? We bring them up close with the grandeur of God’s creation, taking responsibility for their care, safety and experience. All the while, we talk to them about the meaning of a personal relationship with Christ and the love that God has for them. We encourage youth to push limits, dig deeper, and get real about their faith.

The title “Timber-lee Adventure Trip Guide” carries a lot of weight, as it should. We look for guides with a passion and desire to be around youth, sharing God’s love. Each one is committed to pursuing a deeper relationship with the Lord and continually growing in his or her faith. Most hold college degrees in fields such as Youth Ministry, Education, or Biblical Literature. Each one also LOVES being outside, playing in God’s creation.

Beyond this basic component, each 21+ guide participates in a rigorous two-week training course to safely lead and responsibly care for others in the outdoors. This course includes two days of climbing safety instruction, a day of cave orientation and rescue, and five days of river experience, learning basic whitewater skills and ACA swiftwater rescue. Think they’re done? Not yet. Back on-grounds, guides participate in Timber-lee counselor training, equipping them to more effectively minister to youth. At the end of two weeks, guides hold certifications in American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid, Lifeguarding, and CPR.

On a Timber-lee Adventure trip, you are in great hands.
