SUMMER! What a great time to be a kid! A break from school and the indoors, and a time for independence and the outdoors. Time for creating adventures, trying new things and enjoying all the beauty and excitement of God’s creation.
Here at Timber-lee we plan and prepare all year to ensure that we are able to create a camp experience that provides all of these things for your child. And we add a very important dynamic – a godly, trained, college-age counselor to be their guide. The role of each staff member goes well beyond the job of watching out for campers’ safety and making sure they get to activities on time. They strive to provide an environment where each young person can ask questions and seek answers in their journey with Christ.
When you give your children a Timber-lee camp experience, you are giving them memories that will last a lifetime, but more importantly you are giving them an opportunity to eat, sleep, worship and play in a community that is designed to assist in their spiritual development.
Thank you for trusting us with an integral part of your child’s summer.
THEME: REJUVENATE
VERSE: Jeremiah 6:16 – This is what the LORD says, “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” TNLV
Jesus says that He is the Living Water. Psalm 23 talks about how He can restore our soul. Camp is a place set apart from the busyness of life, away from the agendas, somewhere that we can actually stop and think. We will stay active at camp for sure – playing games, swimming, climbing, singing, reading, discussing, paddling and rowing, eating, making crafts, riding horses and all the rest – but at the same time we offer a sanctuary, a place that kids can be themselves, ask their questions and encounter Jesus. He offers His living water to all and we are excited to help young people find it!
Thanks to the support and generosity of Timber-lee donors, there are funds available to those who would not otherwise be able to afford a camp experience for their children. These need-based gifts can be applied for by completing and submitting a financial needs form. Forms are available HERE or can be requested from our registration office at 262.642.7345. If you’re interested in providing scholarship funds, please email Tom Parsons at tomp@timber-lee.com for more information.
Campers in any classic camp program, with a minimum age of 9, have the option of adding horseback rides to their week. Enjoy riding a horse through the beautiful wooded Timber-lee trails guided by our staff wranglers. Trail rides are geared towards riders who love horses, but don’t necessarily want the structure of a classroom lesson. Each ride consists of a one hour session. New for 2008, 2 ride or 5 ride options. Each option will include instruction on the first ride of the week.
Timber-lee’s elaborate obstacle course provides participants the opportunity to safely push their limits under the supervision of highly trained staff. Throughout this adrenaline-packed experience, campers are encouraged to grow by going outside of their comfort zone. All Kids Classic Campers have a one-hour high ropes introductory experience included as part of their camp week activities. Junior High and High School Classic Campers may choose to take part in a two-hour advanced session for an additional $18*.
Don’t miss the opportunity to paintball here at Timber-lee. Facilitated by professionals, our speedball course and wooded course will challenge even the most experienced of individuals. Paintball is available during Senior High Classic Camp only for an additional fee of $35. Sign-up includes all equipment and 500 rounds of paint. Campers may bring their own equipment and we will keep it safe until it is needed for use.
