A week at camp brings all the best parts of summer together. Go for a swim, play in a tournament, grab a snack, make a leather craft, hit the climbing tower. There’s plenty to do and sometimes the week isn’t long enough for everything! Your counselor will be there to lead you along the way. Great activities with great new friends and a central purpose of increasing your faith in Jesus make a Timber-lee experience unforgettable. Energetic worship music and an amazing speaker really encourage you to connect with God. You can’t help but go home with a renewed spirit!
“Care for the planet.” What does this mean for Christians? You hear it on the news and it’s written on your heart; you want to do something, but what? Meet and work alongside like-minded individuals to explore the wonders of God’s earth and make a positive difference in it. Campers will spend two hours each day investigating what kind of wildlife lives at Timber-lee, restoring a plot of endangered habitat and working to promote Earth stewardship in other campers – all for God’s glory! Spend the rest of your day enjoying the amazing activities and events of the Classic Camp program.
Join science and natural resource professionals as we explore many of Timber-lee’s diverse and unique wildlife communities. Whether in the forest, a wetland, or a Midwest savanna, you will get up close and personal with many amazing animals! Capture them, photograph them and collect an assortment of their food, tracks or other samples. Help us find the best way to care for the creatures that call Timber-lee home. There will be opportunities each day to participate in some of the other great Classic Camp activities and events.
If spending three hours a day around horses is your idea of fun, this is the camp for you! Western riding lessons in our outdoor arena, classes on horse care, safety and handling, and new and different aspects of horseback riding including vaulting, English riding and a trail ride will be a part of each week’s exciting program. This camp is for the beginner as well as the intermediate rider. Campers returning to or entering into the Trainers program have the chance to advance within the levels taught each year by mastering the appropriate skills.
