Acorns Country Store and Canteen

Feel free to stop by Acorns while you are at camp. They have hot and cold snacks, soda, and candy! You can also buy Timber-lee t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, water bottles, and other souvenir items.

Arrival Procedures

Step One—Parking

  1. Plan to arrive for registration between 2:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
  2. Upon arrival, you will be greeted along the driveway and given a colored slip of paper.
  3. Follow the driveway to the “Car Parkers” who will direct you to an appropriate parking place.

Step Two—Luggage

  1. Unload your camper’s luggage, being sure to remove any medications.
  2. Bring your luggage to the zone marked by the sign that matches the colored slip of paper you have. The luggage will be taken to the village where your camper will be staying. It should be there when you arrive in the village. You may choose to carry your luggage.

Step Three—Registration

  1. Bring all medication (including over the counter), signed medical forms that haven’t been sent in, and camper spending money with you. Proceed to the registration and nurses area under the picnic pavilion. There is one main line that feeds into 8-10 stations (each station has registration and health services staff). Washrooms are located in the building next to the pavilion.
  2. After completing registration, walk with your camper to his or her cabin where you will meet the counselor and help your camper choose a bunk. A form will be given to you at registration that must be presented to the counselor, allowing your camper to move into the cabin. You can give your child’s money to his or her counselor for safekeeping in camp’s safe.

Other Information

  1. We encourage all parents to attend one of the parent meetings in Cross Timbers at 3:00, 3:30, 4:00, and 4:30p.m. There will be an overview of your camper’s week, and you will have the opportunity to meet camp leadership and get answers to your questions.
  2. You are welcome to visit Acorns Country Store and Canteen, the Science Education Center, and tour the grounds.
  3. Our Family Camp and Youth Camp beaches will not be open for use in the afternoon.
  4. Please leave dogs and pets at home. They will not be allowed past the parking lot area.
  5. Timber-lee staff can be recognized by the camp shirt and nametag they are wearing. Please stop anyone and ask any questions you may have.

Kids Camp

(*Junior High and Senior High campers have a different schedule. They have some specialized activities, free time during the day, as well as later nights.)

7:00  Rise and shine. This is time for getting ready for the day, personal devotions, cabin cleanup, and flag raising with the village.

8:00  Breakfast is under the picnic pavilion. A variety of hot breakfasts are served, as well as fresh fruit and cold cereal.

9:05  Chapel session outside in Poplar Grove with our worship team and an exciting speaker.

10:30  It’s time for the first activity block. Campers can visit the craft area, Acorns snack shop, waterfront, archery, or the Science Education Center, among many other areas, with their cabin and counselor.

12:30  Lunch is also under the picnic pavilion. We serve a variety of youth-friendly meals.

1:30  This is our second activity block. Each day your child will have an opportunity to spend time at Timber-lee’s waterfront. We have a blob and two waterslides as well as other fun water toys. Our waterfront is staffed by highly trained lifeguards.

3:30  The third activity block rounds out the afternoon. If your child is participating in a specialty camp, their specialized activities take place during the various activity blocks.

5:45  Supper is when your child will generally receive their letters or emails from home.

6:45  Campers participate in camp wide activities such as Staff Hunt, Rodeo, and Capture the Flag.

7:45  Chapel session is in Cross Timbers at night with our full worship band and speaker.

8:45  It’s time to head back to the cabin and get ready for bed. Counselors lead cabin devotions, encouraging camper participation.

9:30  Lights out.

Early Release

If you need to take your child out of camp during the week, pick them up earlier than Saturday morning, or have someone besides the legal guardian pick them up, please notify us at registration.

Emergency Contact

If you are planning to be away from home during your child’s stay at Timber-lee, please make sure our office has clear information about how to reach you in case of an emergency.

In the event of an emergency situation, to relay an urgent message to your child, please call Timber-lee’s main office at 262.642.7345.

Health

If you haven’t sent in your camper health form, it is essential that you present it at registration. Be sure it is signed by a parent or guardian. Click here to print one out on line.

Timber-lee has health care professionals on grounds and on duty for all camps. There is no charge for minor medical attention at the camp infirmary. In case of accident or illness requiring x-rays, prescription drugs, services of a hospital, physican, dentist, ambulance, or related services, the charges will be made to the parents or to the parents’ insurance carrier. Parents will be notified in the event such medical treatment is necessary.

To ensure the best possible experience for all concerened, children must maintain their normal medication patterns while at camp or, if changing, must have any medication affecting behavior adjusted by their physician and in effect at lease four weeks prior to coming to camp.

All prescription medications must be turned in to the medical personnel at the time of registration and will be dispensed by health services staff according to the prescription directions. Please do not bring over-the-counter medications as they will be dispensed, as needed, by health services staff, from our medical supplies.

Lost and Found

Campers should do their best to keep track of the things they bring to camp, especially as they are leaving on Saturday morning. All items from lost and found will be on the lawn outside of Aspen, the main office. Be sure to check there before you leave camp so that you can pick up any items that belong to your family. We keep lost and found items for one month before donating them to a local charity. If you realize your child left something at Timber-lee, give us a call and we will check lost and found for you. If we have the item, it will be mailed to you and appropriate packaging and postage costs will be charged.

Mail

It’s always fun getting mail when you are at camp! When you write to your camper, encourage them to have fun, make new friends, and be open to what God is teaching them. Be positive!

You can write to your campers in three ways:

    1.  Letter—Please be sure to include your camper’s name and cabin assignment on the envelope:

Sarah Jones—Pine Bluff 2A
Timber-lee
N8705 Scout Rd
East Troy WI 53120

    2.  Bunk1 camper email information has been sent to you. Call Bunk1 at 1-800-216-9472 with your questions!

    3.  You may drop off letters and packages for your camper in the Aspen Office on Sunday. Please let us know what day you would like them delivered.

Don’t worry if you don’t hear from your camper while they are here. They are likely busy with fun camp activities. No news is good news!
