"Sending our middle schooler to Timber-lee was the best decision we made last summer. He came home more confident, talking about his faith, and still texting the friends he made at camp."

Why Families Trust the Timber-lee Experience

For over five decades, parents and grandparents have looked to our wilderness campus as a place where character is forged. We recognize that in the middle school years, a safe and supportive community is the baseline for everything else.

The Priority of Physical and Emotional Security

A student cannot grow if they do not feel secure. We provide a protective environment that allows middle-schoolers the freedom to be themselves without the pressure of their daily routine.

Rigorous Staff Vetting: Every potential staff member undergoes multiple interviews with different levels of leadership. We require professional reference checks and thorough background screenings for every person on our team.

Professional Health Standards: Our medical protocols are signed off by a licensed MD. Whether managing daily medications or tending to the bumps and scrapes of an active week outdoors, your student is under the care of trained professionals.

A Culture of Presence: We require our staff to keep their phones locked away. This ensures their eyes and ears are focused on the students in their care, creating a high level of care and engagement.

Adventure and Nature: Growth Through the Challenge

We believe that trying hard things in a supportive environment is the fastest way to build confidence. Our activities are world-class and designed to help students realize their own capabilities.

The Zipline Challenge: Our 900-foot zipline is a camp favorite. With four parallel lines, buddies can launch together. This turns a personal challenge into a shared memory of courage and positive peer encouragement.

The Cannon Waterfront: We feature commercial-grade slides that rival major waterparks. One slide specifically launches campers into the lake like a cannon. This provides a high-energy thrill in the middle of our fresh-air campus.

The Science Center: This unique, USDA-licensed facility houses over 60 species, including chinchillas and large rabbits. It follows the same animal care guidelines as the Milwaukee Zoo. It offers a hands-on look at the wonder of creation up close.

Mentorship and a Faith in Something Bigger

The middle school years are when faith often moves from a family tradition to a personal conviction. We provide the space for students to ask the big questions.

The Digital Break: By removing the crutch of mobile devices, we help students rediscover the beauty of face-to-face interaction and the quiet needed to hear God's voice away from the noise and the routine.

The Creation Walk: This immersive, 100% narrated experience brings the story of the world to life through light and sound. It helps ground students in the truth of their identity as a creation of God.

Relational Leadership: Our counselors are trained to look students in the eye and listen, modeling servant leadership. This shows middle schoolers what it looks like to follow Jesus in the real world.

BFFs: Relationships That Outlast the Summer

God designed us for horizontal relationships: These are meaningful connections with people who walk beside us. In an era where digital connection often leaves middle schoolers feeling isolated, and where loneliness is an epidemic, Timber-lee provides a place where authentic, face-to-face bonding happens naturally.

Finding Their Crew

When students leave the routine behind, they have no option but to engage with the people right in front of them. They might be encouraging each other at the top of the climbing tower or laughing at the lake; regardless of the activity, they are building a community rooted in shared experience rather than an algorithm.

BFFs and Bonds That Stick

Shared victories create a unique bond. We often hear of camp besties who continue to encourage each other months and even years after their week at Timber-lee; these are the friends who share the same values and the same memories of a life-changing week in the wilderness.

Mentorship That Matters

Relationship-building doesn't stop with peers. Our counselors are trained to do more than just supervise; they are there to walk life with your student. By asking the right questions and being fully present, they model what healthy, Christ-centered friendship looks like.

What a Week at Junior High Camp Looks Like

Day 1: Connection and Belonging

From the moment you arrive, we focus on social belonging. Campers are introduced to their cabin group and mentors immediately. This ensures no student feels like an outsider.

Day 2 to 5: The Wilderness Experience Mornings and afternoons are filled with high-energy rotations. Students explore the Science Center, hit the waterfront slides, and master the ropes course. Each activity is led by an instructor who encourages perseverance and celebrates every win.

Evening Impact: Worship and Reflection Evenings are dedicated to high-energy worship and age-appropriate teaching. These sessions connect the courage found in the outdoors with the truth of the Gospel. Cabin devotions then allow for quiet, honest conversation about what it means to follow the Creator.

Day 6: A New Perspective

By pickup day, the change is often visible. You are meeting a version of your student that is more independent, more resilient, and more confident in who God made them to be.
